You know, I think Lauren has finally (belatedly) hit the ‘6 month growth spurt’, she’s feeding an awful lot, day and night and I’m feeling rather exhausted. I can totally see how at this point a lot of mother’s don’t think they have enough milk and switch to formula, I’ve had those fleeting thoughts myself: maybe she’d sleep better, maybe she’s not getting enough nourishment now. Though, she’s still growing beautifully, is happy as she can be and developing way too fast for my liking.

Anyways… feeling like this, I’m still writing. I’m sitting at 48% of the months requirements which is a nice place to be on day 13. I’ll be over the halfway point at some point today, though doing nothing extra this weekend as I’m setting aside some time to get the Kiwiwriters Collection formatted. I’ve been quite slack on a lot of my tasks this month (I feel anyways…) and it’s time to get on with things.

Despite there being more participants than ever before for SoCNoC, Kiwiwriters is a lot quieter than it has felt in other years – or maybe it’s just the fact that I’m feeling somewhat distanced from the activity, as a result of not participating in the main event and simply having too many other things to do to let myself get caught up in the fun of it all. I guess it’s a shame, but right now I’m too tired to be bothered by it. I haven’t even checked into the chatroom in days, and I was a fixture there last year! At least there have been far fewer technical problems on the site, for which I am very grateful.

Anyway, better go and get the girls organized to go to dancing this morning. And then I have to think of a couple decent idea for blog posts over at KW. If anyone has a good writing related post lying around that they think might help others and wouldn’t mind being up on the site drop me a comment, thanks!

  1. It’s a baby thing, I swear. I have quite a few places that I have neglected post-baby, simply because there’s now a dearth of spare time in my day!

Great progress on Halfnoc, keep it up! Nothing like being ahead of yourself to make you feel good about your writing 🙂

By the way, what do SocNoc and HalfNoc stand for? I can’t make any words fit…and I’m too lazy to look it up 🙂

    1. SoCNoC = Southern Cross Novel Challenge (aka, our version of National Novel Writing Month (fyi, just to show my level of brain fry I wrote ‘Mother’ instead of Month there first..))
HalfNoc = Half Novel Challenge, I put it up for those of us who only feel like doing 25K in June instead of 50K which is just too much for some (like me right now!).
You’re so right about the spare time… lol it’s lacking, and I guess I’d rather spend it writing.
