One week down, one to go…

School holidays are dragging, but we’re halfway through! Oh the next week can’t go fast enough. While I am thoroughly enjoying having my girls both at home and going on adventures, there really is so much less time in the day to get things done – and when I DO get time? I’m exhausted!

All my hopes for this week are out the window. I am no closer to where I wanted to be. There is no point stressing about it though – all I can do is hope that maybe this week coming I can get a little more done.

Like finishing the latest short story, as well as the mummy ears one. I’d be really happy with that. I’d be even happier if by some miracle I got the first draft of the latest one finished this weekend…. (cross your fingers and hope that I get some writing time tonight!)

Lots of other things have been going on, lots of thoughts swirling around my mind. Distracting? Hell yeah. But I’m pushing them aside and focusing on the things I can work with, not the things that are out of my control.

In other news we’re finally lawn mower owners again (thank goodness!), Lauren now knows when the Simpsons is on and calls it Dimdons (super cute), and Ivy seems to be finally recovering from an exhausting first term at school (though she still gets exhausted easily and it’s better not to attempt to do anything mildly taxing in the afternoons).

Seriously, wish me luck 😉

    1. haha, yeah she is getting heaps more words these days. Every day, something new.

I actually managed to double the length of the current short story last night which was exciting. I hope to finish it today! I’m on that final push, it’s just a matter of finding the time and after outlining clearly to husband dearest what I expect from today it might just happen!
