And a meme, because it had to happen sooner or later

This one has been around for a couple weeks now – I think I must have read it on just about everyone I knows blog by now. Just when I thought I was going to get away without being tagged, Merrilee pinged me!

So here goes… I’m not feeling very thoughtful, but I’ll do my best.

1. If you could have any superpower, what would you have? Why?

Gosh this is hard! So many to choose from…. I think, maybe, controlling the elements? Because I love weather of all kinds and that would just be a lot of fun. We’d have way more storms than we do right now, and it would never rain when it was time to go and get Ivy from school….

2. Who is your style icon?

I have no style, and no one I really look up to. Ask me again in six months time when I’ve lost my pregnancy weight and am thinking about how I want to look.

3. What is your favorite quote?

In sunlight and in shade, always stay true to your own path.

When I had finished a years worth of counselling my counselor presented me with a box of sayings on cards and asked me to pick one that I could look at in times to come. It fit me so well, and is a message I often need to hear. I can’t live my life for others, I have to be true to who I am.

4. What is the best compliment you’ve ever received?

This is tricky! I’m always being told nice things (mostly that I am superwoman and amazing – I guess not enough tho, cause I don’t believe it lol). So I’ll go with the other week when I showed my Nana the Anthology and she said it was very impressive, but that was no surprise because she is always impressed with the things I do. That was super sweet.

5. What playlist/cd is in your CD player/iPod right now?

Nothing? There is a kids CD in the player right now, and I haven’t used my mp3 player in months. The last thing I listened to was probably some Mindless Self Indulgence, which is great writing music. I love it cause it’s just so…. well, hard to describe, but it’s not PC and it’s stuff that I can’t listen to with the kids around πŸ˜‰

6. Are you a night owl or a morning person?

Definitely a morning person! I love getting up early and starting the day. I’m in bed pretty early these days because I am up 2-3 times a night for the kids anyways. Pays to be a morning person if you have children πŸ˜‰

7. Do you prefer dogs or cats?

I love them both (we have 2 cats and a dog), but I think at the end of the day I am a cat person. They like their space, and yet love cuddles, and I can appreciate that. I like being part of an animal pack without the pressure of being needed constantly.

8. What is the meaning behind your blog name?

Um, I think it’s just my name right now? *checks*. Just Cassie – the explanation can be found in my about section. It used to be ‘In sunlight and in shade’, and the reason for that can be found in the answer to 3.

  1. so far every one these i read the writer is a morning person! i am the only night owl! i agree with so much you just said and have so far been a lousy player (ie. non posting) cause i just have nothing to answer.

    1. I quite like nights too, but if I had to pick it would be mornings – I love getting up early and getting stuff done. Though that doesn’t happen so much these days cause of the kids lol they tend to wake up when I do!
You have plenty of reasons not to play πŸ™‚ I would’t worry too much, we all love you whether you do it or not!

    1. that would totally work for me. I used to pretend I could control the wind when walking home from school – it often seemed to respond. Or so I liked to imagine πŸ˜‰

  2. Awwwww, it’s so sweet that you get support from your Nana πŸ™‚ Controlling the elements would be useful here as well… maybe we’d get to have more than 5 days of sun per year in Melbourne.

    1. here too, ruzkin! this month we’ve had a grand total of one rain free day….
I keep forgetting you’re in Melbourne – that’s where my Aussie family are mostly based.
