Looking for inspiration

I really need to get a new header for my blog sorted, but have no idea where to start. So I thought I’d put it to you:

When you read my blog, what colours come to mind?

What images/ideas/themes do you associate with me?

Will consider anything at this point. Maybe I’ll even make a couple and then put it to a vote πŸ˜‰ I’m all for reader participation.

Hope you’re having a great day!

  1. You seem to have a crisp style to your site so colours that go with that may be best (ie stay away from pastels). I like the green because it goes with your spec-fic badge but maybe something in the darker blue/green colour spectrum?

  2. Some folks have websites that keep the same look for years. Personally, I could not stand that. There are times when fooling with the look of the place is the most pleasure I get from it. Still, there are some colors, shapes, fonts, that will always please (and load faster) while others will always bore or irritate me. You will NEVER find animation on my blog. Well, if I could find a free lava lamp animation, maybe, but nothing jerky.

So ask yourself which design elements you like best. Then ask yourself if you have the skills to produce those elements. Will you be keeping the stark white overall background? That will make it so your header will work better if it’s a bit stark, too. Spare and angular? Okay–I’m no help. It’s just pixels, and if you put up a new header and then come to dislike it, you can just throw a poof on it and have something new. Hope to see the new version soon. :)TX
