Breaking it down

Bite sized chunks, people. That’s how my day is looking at the moment. In fact, every day this month. It seems to be the only way I feel like I’m making progress. There are so many tasks to get stuck into and they are all deserving of my time and attention.

Normally, I like to pick a project and see it through to it’s end. I love ticking something off my list and getting the sense of satisfaction that comes with it. Now? I just need to make the things on my list smaller.

A scene on the novella, a scene on a story, read a story here, another there, crit a chapter over there, intersperse with housework, play and cooking. Clear the inbox, update any sites that need it… you get the picture.

I looked back on my day yesterday, and despite extreme fatigue, I had got a lot done. I felt like I’d made good progress. Hopefully by the end of the week I’ll have at least one of the stories on my list finished and that will free up time for the others. I can do this. I know I can. Gosh and think of how amazing I’ll feel by the end of the month?

How is your month shaping up so far? We’re starting to get chillier mornings and evenings here now, which is lovely – does this mean things are starting to warm up a little for all my readers on the other side of the world?
