Was actually more successful than I imagined it was going to be.
I had a really nice lunch with my friend and then we looked at literally ALL the baby stores in town, leaving me very tired and quite sore – I think I’m getting to the stage where I almost need a nap during the day again. I managed not to spend any money! So I thought I did quite well. It’s actually fairly easy not spending money when you don’t know what gender baby you’re having, the unisex stuff is generally pretty boring.
When I did eventually get home, I decided to chill out for a bit, which turned into procrastination after about 15 mins… at which point I was glad I had written over 500 words in the morning… I managed to get to almost 1k before picking Ivy up from preschool.
And then somewhere in there before Simon got home, and during cooking dinner I managed to get to 47K, so thats good! I thought about doing some more writing, but ended up switching the computer off before 9 and going to bed.
I planned, and made some notes on Isabelle – whose first POV I wrote, but it’s messy, I’m still getting used to her character, which has undergone some changes since the original draft, and I’ve realized that there is a whole other side to the story that will come through with her POV. It’s made me realize a few things indeed, and it’ll be interesting to see what else comes out of the story that I hadn’t thought about before. It’ll be fun though.
So, contrary to Chibi’s absolute disbelief that I would actually do planning without her being around to prompt me on – I got the next five days plotted out, after which the story will probably come back into line with the original version in regards to timeline. I still need to pin down the exact events during that last phase, but, it won’t be difficult.
I’m not going to get any writing done this morning. Off to the pools with Ivy very soon, and then taking her out to her grandmothers for the day. It should leave me with plenty of time to get some writing done and I am hoping to get to 50K by the end of today. Seems like a high hope, but man, it would be nice.
