Welcome to my website. I’m Cassie, a writer of mostly science fiction and fantasy, from Taranaki, Aotearoa New Zealand.

As J.C. Hart I write fiction most influenced by the mythology and culture of the land I live on. As Nova Blake I look more to the wider world, drawing inspiration from everything from fairy tales to mythology. In all my books I love nothing more than exploring the complexities of relationships, whether they be between friends, lovers, family, or enemies.

I’m an alumna of the Te Papa Tupu programme, a Sir Julius Vogel Award winning editor, and most importantly I love coffee, chocolate, and everything zombies.
